Tips for Fashion (and Shopping) Oversized Clothing

When it comes to shopping for your extra body size, we know it can be challenging and depending on where you live, it can be almost impossible. Ten years ago, there were some great designers and even fewer clothing designs that made you confident, stylish and sexy. Since then, many designed of plus size urban clothing  have appeared.

Seriously, having a seamstress can change a life. It is rare for large women to get the perfect clothes off the rack. That’s when the tailor comes in handy. Have you ever bought a jacket the right size, but it didn’t fit and the next size was too big? A seamstress can take a fabric of a larger size and make a blower so that it looks like it has been specially designed with your body in mind. So are pants and jeans.

You’d be surprised how many stores don’t offer sizes that have real styles available for a larger body size. Ann Taylor and Loft actually wear sizes under 18 and sizes 16 small. Gap has a style in its online store up to XXL and 20. The cuts are also surprisingly generous. Loft and Ann Taylor have pants specific to more crooked body types. Even Banana Republic wears a size 16 and we swear Jackson Jackson is more for curves. Fast fashion stores like H&M offer oversized cuts and tops and have some size 16 items in their US stores.

Shopping online can be a bit challenging because each brand has a different cut. Sometimes it is not enough to buy two sizes to see which is the best. Then a measurement graph is available. You need to buy a tape measure and measure your waist, hips, thighs and chest and then compare your measurements with the company’s measurement table. This will help you determine if you need to increase or decrease the size.

Trending brands are larger average sizes for juniors plus size. So don’t think you’re crazy if you’re on average 1X-14/16 and find that you’re pushing 3X-22/24. Junior sizes are often measured by odd and equal numbers. For example, some (not all) junior plus size brands vary in size from 13/14, 15/16 and plus size brands to women’s sizes from 14/16, 18/20. Younger colleagues are cut for someone else, for teenagers. While large-size women who fall into the plus-size category may fit into junior sizes, it’s always best to check the size charts to make sure you’re sitting properly.

Honestly, you don’t have to be extra big to experience the friction of your inner feet aka the thickness. We usually experience this in spring and summer when we wear our beautiful little skirt and legless dress. To overcome thickness friction, we have found that abrasion creams, such as Monistat’s powder gel, can help eliminate abrasions. If you can, stock up. It is a must in fashion equipment for the survival of every large woman. 8. Use magazines for inspiration

Not sure what to do with the piles of Vogue on your coffee table? Here’s the idea. Cut out photos with outfits that interest you and create a collage that is known in the fashion industry as an inspiration board. On days when you feel like you have nothing to wear to that collage. We know that Lucky magazine always has many outfits that can inspire.

When it comes to fashion and shopping for your body size, you need to forget the old fashion rules. Yes, large women can wear horizontal stripes. Yes, large women can wear bright colors outside the scarf. Yes, large women can wear shorts. It’s about finding the right cut and style for your body.

At the end of the day, whether you are happy with your body or trying to lose weight, you owe it to yourself to look good and be the best, regardless of your size. Having a nice style has nothing to do with a partner. It’s all about knowing your body and knowing what will work for it. You don’t have to wait until you lose more than 10 pounds to wear a sexy dress.
